Poetry Thursday (My week 16.5)

Chasing Cars

We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
But they’re not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see

I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Snow Patrol

This is my favourite song at the moment! Before that, it Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day. But, the other song that actually made me look up the lyrics is Everybody’s Changing by Keane!

I never thought of myself having a favourite music genre (apart from the worldly popular reggae), but after identifying these three favourite songs, I think I am finally discovering my music taste.

So, anybody else likes The Smokie? 🙂

Yes, Greenday’s Wake me up when September Ends was a great hit. I liked it too. Did you watch the video clip though? It was real nice. Obviously KEANE’s Everybody’s Changing is a hit and I think most people know the band through Somewhere Only We Know and Everybody’s Changing.

The Smokie? Um, never heard of it. But I will most definitely try to get some tracks online though.

I’m not really a fan of Snow Patrol. I don’t think too highly of their last album, Eyes Open, actually. But there are three songs which I really like from the album though namely You’re All That I Have, Chasing Cars and Setting Fire To The Third Bar. I really love the duet .
